"Inter-Grabado" 2005

GOALS
This contest was born as a tribute to the Engravers of the Planet, with the ENGRAVING as an "universal language", searching for peace and brotherhood between people, trying to approach them.
The "Lolita Rubial" Foundation and the "Engraving National Museum" of Uruguay calls all the engraving artists to the

to be held in Minas, Uruguay, South America
RULES
Theme: "War and Peace"
1. Engravings
Only original works, that have not been submitted to other contests or exhibitions will be admitted.
All techniques are accepted, including Digital and Experimental Technics.
Monocopies will also be accepted.
Paper dimensions: 200 x 200 mm (minimum paper size), to 300 x 400 mm (maximum paper size), unmounted.
Image dimensions: free.
The engravings must be signed, dated and must have the edition number on the front side. In case of digital works, they must include handwritten signature.
Every piece must have a complete work entry form stuck on the back side. The group of engravings must be sent together with the artists entry form.
2. Shipping
Min. 2 and max. 5 drawings per artist.
Deadline:
last date to be postmarked is February 15th, 2006.

3. Jury
Admission Jury: Gladys Afamado (Ex member of the Engraving Club of Montevideo), Pascual Grippoli (Profesor of the School of Fine Arts - University of Uruguay), Gustavo Alamón (Ex Director of the Department of Fine Arts from the Ministry of Culture of Uruguay), Pedro Peralta (Director of the "Peralta" Studio - Uruguay), and Ignacio Márquez (Director of the "Engraving National Museum" - Minas - Uruguay).
Contest Jury: same as above plus the Masters Leonilda González (Founder and ex Board member of the Engraving Club of Montevideo and Director of the "Guadalupe Posada" Studio - Uruguay), and Osmar Santos (Director of the "Rivera Fine Arts Museum" - Uruguay).
The Jury will also select the works to be exhibited in the 1st International Small Size Engraving Salon "INTER-GRABADO" 2005.
Judges decision will be final and no argument allowed.
4. Prizes
International Grand Prix:
Golden "Museo Nacional del Grabado" Medal & Diploma.
U$S 500 (Haras "GAVROCHE" Prize)
Air return ticket to Uruguay (Haras "GAVROCHE" Prize)
7 days lodging in Uruguay, and tours (Minas, Colonia del Sacramento, Punta del Este and Piriápolis) (TransHotel Prize)
2 days workshop in the School of Fine Arts - University of Uruguay (with participation of teachers, pupils and graduates). (School of Fine Arts Prize)
Second International prize:
Silver "Museo Nacional del Grabado" Medal & Diploma.
5 days lodging (3 days in Montevideo and 2 days in Minas) and tours (Minas, Colonia del Sacramento, Punta del Este and Piriápolis) (TransHotel Prize)
Honorable Mentions:
Diploma.
Prizes will be given on the Salon opening day. Winners will know in advance.
Except for the cash, prizes are not redeemable.
5. 1st International Small Size Engraving Salon.
The selected works will be exhibited in Minas, Uruguay, South America, in the first half of 2006.
Later they will travel to Montevideo, and the Mercosur countries: Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Paraguay.
They will be exhibited also at the Museums Virtual Gallery:

A catalogue with all selected works will be printed and sent to the participants.
6. Organisation
The contest and the Salon are organised by the "Engraving National Museum"and the "Lolita Rubial" Foundation.
Dates and places of exhibition are subject to changes.
Engravings wont be returned, and will remain in the Museums archive.
The organiser retains the rights to use all works received for promotion in any media, to publish them in newspapers, magazines, books, posters and any other form and to exhibit them in Uruguay or abroad, all without any compensation or fee to the author.
